In 1965, Mike Papachrisanthou moved to the United States from Greece. He didn't know the language, but he did know automotive engine rebuilding. In 1976, he quit his long-time job at National Auto Supply to pursue his long-life dream of owning his own business, and on October 10, 1976, Mike's Automotive Machine Shop, Inc. was born, primarily as an automotive machine shop and complete engine rebuilding facility. Today, Mike's Automotive (dba St. Louis Engines) is a custom engine rebuilding and installation facility that offers a wide range of automotive machine shop services in addition to general automotive repair.
